Bridge is Designed to:

Deepen new friendships and strengthen the learning that was part of DISCOVER
Begin applying the concepts learned in DISCOVER to relevant life situations
Facilitate communication between teens and parents
Prepare parents and teens for the upcoming BREAKTHROUGH module

Session 1

Parent Participation Day

Acknowledging others is a cornerstone of the Life Unleashed Trainings and we practice this skill during this session. Both parents and teens also participate in experiential processes that demonstrate open and honest communication.

Session 2

Teens Only

We begin with a fun, experiential process that brings up teens’ internal dialogue in relation to how they interact with others. Getting off of “auto-pilot” and looking at what triggers different emotions can be eye opening to teens who have not fully considered that there are different ways to react to a single event. We also look at specific events in terms of the facts vs. how they are interpreted.

Session 3

Teens Only

This session helps teens dive deeper into being accountable, both as an individual and as part of their family. This includes a fun look at some of the stories they tell, while examining the underlying reasons they tell these stories. They also look at how they can interact more effectively with their family, friends and authority figures.

Session 4

Parent Participation Day

In this final session, prior to the beginning of BREAKTHROUGH, we will be checking in on progress made in the family since beginning this program. Parents and teens have the opportunity to ask questions of each other in an open forum where everyone has the opportunity to participate. Each family creates their own vision statement.
